Plenty of contractors out there are good builders, but most contractors undervalue customer service and communication.
With 16 years in the commercial construction realm and decades in customer service, MK Builds brings strong processes, scheduling, and constant communication to the building process.
We know renovating your home is an intrusive and stressful process; it can be the most significant cost outside of purchasing your home, and the client's comfort in the process is of the utmost concern and focus for MK Builds.
Our Story:
Established in 2017 by Mark and Andrea, MK Builds merges a lifelong passion for construction with the highest standards of craftsmanship and effective communication. Mark's journey began in a family-owned door store in Warren, MI, fostering a deep-seated love for building that was further nurtured through high school classes and professional experiences in Denver, CO. Here, he not only honed his skills but also owned and renovated multiple properties.
The move to Minneapolis in 2013 marked a new chapter for Mark, leading to the inception of MK Builds in 2017, a venture born from his desire to pursue his passion alongside Andrea. The couple's shared commitment to excellence and integrity in building led them back to Michigan in 2021, aiming to enrich the Grand Rapids community with their expertise.
Andrea, with her formidable background in commercial construction and project management, brings a wealth of experience and a dynamic "I wait for no man" attitude to MK Builds. Together, they are dedicated to transforming homes in West Michigan, crafting spaces that families cherish.

STEP 1: Contact Us

STEP 3: Proposal Delivery and Follow-Up Call
We will provide a fully detailed, line itemed proposal layout all aspects of the work discussed during the Discovery Meeting and schedule a call to ensure all details are clear and answer any questions.
STEP 5: Demo Day
Once materials are on hand and all trade partners have been communicated with on the project schedule, we will get rockin’ & rollin’ on your project!
STEP 7: Post Completion Follow-Up
After all punch list items have been addressed, we will do a follow-up to ensure your complete satisfaction!
STEP 2: In-Home Discovery Meeting
We will schedule a meeting at your home to review the work you are wanting to have done, take pictures and a 3D scan of your home if needed.
STEP 4: Contract Signing, Deposit and Scheduling
With the scope dialed in, you will sign off on the proposal and construction contract. We provide a deposit invoice and work with you to schedule the project start. With the start date worked out, we will order critical materials and build the project schedule around material arrival to ensure that when we need it, everything is ready to go!
STEP 6: Completion Walk-Through and Punch List
When work is substantially complete, we will walk through the space with you to ensure no details were overlooked. Additionally, we will communicate any items that are still outstanding and identify any areas where touch-ups may be required.
